Coral, Brown, and Aqua

Today has been a crazy day.  Since I'm at home with my daughter during the day right now, I'm usually in shorts and t-shirts just trying to get stuff done around the house.  That was my day today.  I actually took the morning to clean out my closet and chest of drawers and get an actual inventory of the clothes I own.  I also threw out an extra large garbage bag full of clothes that were either too big or too worn out.  It's amazing what you hold on to until you set a time to go through and purge.  I didn't realize that I had so much!

Once I did that, I was able to plan my outfit much better for tonight's event up at our church.  For the past two years, I have been the craft coordinator for our Mothers of Preschoolers group.  Since I decided that I was going to try to go back to work, I have had to step down.  The church is holding an event tonight for all of the women who have served in one position or another over the past year.  I don't get to dress up often, so I had fun picking out this outfit!

Here is my inspiration from Pinterest.

And here's my outfit!  I took my inspiration from the color palette. All of the clothes are clothes that I had in my closet, except for the scarf.  The scarf was a clearance find the other day after I fell in love with this color palette.

Welcome to Plus Size Chic on a Budget!  This is my first post, so I thought I would introduce myself.  I am a wife, mommy to two, photographer, and soon-to-be teacher.  I have had the privilage to stay at home with my kiddos for the past 4 years and am now in the process of looking for a teaching job.

Being plus-sized, I have had a hard time finding clothes that were either not too old for me or not too young.  Pinterest has become my best friend for finding ideas, but many of those clothes are for a size 8 (where I'd love to be!).  I know that on my body those great clothes will not fit the same.

My purpose for this blog is to help women find clothes that will look great on them, but not break the bank.  I will try to post where I got each piece and how much it was.

I can't wait to get started on this wonderful journey.
